Daniel Eriksen's debut CD. An awesome album mixing Mississippi`s rough Delta Blues with the boiling grooves of New Orleans. The CD contains Eriksen originals such as the bottleneck tour de force "Arctic Slide", the rocking gospels "Devil's Game" and "Blind Man", alongside versions of Anders Osborne's "Ya Ya" and "Oh Mama", Grayson Capps "Poison", John Mooney's "Baby Please" and Skip James haunting "Cypress Grove".
Slideguitarist Daniel Eriksen's second album is filled to the brim with second line rhythms, murder gospels, dirty deltablues, Mardi Gras Indians, mafiabosses in love and more! The anticipated follow-up to "Ya Ya" (2006), has become a feast of blues and roots music. The title song song "Muddy Days" opens the album with an explosion of flute riffs from jazzgreat Guttorm Guttormsen. The traditional "If I Had My Way" has a desert feel to it and features rhythm master Stig Sjøstrøm on percussion. "My Indian Red" and "Lay My Burden Down" feature a full brass band and add some New Orleans flavour to the mix. "Big Road Blues", "Cross Eyed Pete" and "Shortenin' Bread" are rough deltablues tunes with drums and slideguitar. Fans of Dr. John, Anders Osborne, Ry Cooder, John Mooney ,and deltablues and New Orleans music in general, will love this CD.
