Carl Erik 'Calle' Hansen is a popular freelance drummer most noted for his rock-steady, driving and dynamic grooves. Born august 1970 in Porsgrunn, Norway - he started playing at the age of 14 when he bought a drum kit and joined a gospel choir for several years. After attending a year at Viken Folkehøyskole (a non-degree granting college specializing in music) his musical career took a different turn in 1993 as he began touring and recording with the blues/roots group "Funny Band", later to be known as "Congo Square". During this time, singer/songwriter Tom Pacheco collaborated with the band on some of his rare appearances in Norway.

From there Carl Erik went to join a funk and soul fusion band called "b.u.m.p.", where he also contributed as a composer. "b.u.m.p." soon became known as the house band at the famous jam-sessions at Wrightegaarden in Langesund, where 'Calle' still sits at the drums frequently. When "b.u.m.p." broke up some years later Carl Erik began playing numerous sessions, big-band gigs and musical/theatre performances in the area; most notably perhaps "B.B.B." featuring Trond Ytterbø (of "Notodden Blues Band" fame), "Urban Honk" (the notorious duo of local guitar-hero Ole Bjørn Berge and bass virtuoso Jan Tore 'Kito' Eriksen), a "Toto" tribute band (consisting mostly of the members from "b.u.m.p." and the incredible lead-guitarist Jørn-Viggo Lofstad from "Pagan's Mind" and "Jorn"), Kirsti Carr (singer/songwriter and Eurovision Song Contest contender), the cabaret of "Flørt" and the studio-recording fusion project "Toast-a-Ghost" in collaboration with Espen Mjøen and Steinar Borvik.

In 2003, Carl Erik was hired by the up-and-coming party-band "Freddy & Løkki Døx" - where he still contributes greatly both live and in studio - and in 2005 he joined together with Ove Thorkildsen, Stig Sjøstrøm and Daniel Eriksen to form and record the current blend of Daniel Eriksen and Pzydeco Sisters' incredible sound.
