Through dedication and years of relentless touring, Daniel Eriksen has built a reputation as one of the finest slideguitarplayers around. His blend of dirty Mississippi deltablues and New Orleans rhythms, has brought him many fans around the world.
In 1996, Eriksen moved permanently to Langesund in southern Norway, and became part of its vibrant music scene. He soon found himself playing with artists like Rick Danko (The Band), Linda Gail Lewis (Jerry Lee's sister), The Rick Derringer Band, Vidar Busk, Stephen Ackles, Reidar Larsen or whomever was passing through. He also got to open shows for B.B. King, John Mayall and Roy Rogers.
In 2001, Daniel was invited by Maury «Hooter» Saslaff (formerly with Big Jack Johnson) to front his band The Blue Devils (later Daniel Eriksen & The Blue Devils). The band toured non-stop all over Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia. The band's hard-driving delta blues gained them invitations to play many of Europe's great roots festivals such as Notodden Bluesfestival, Langelandsfestivalen, Augustibluus, Tyykki Bluesfestival, Skånevik Bluesfestival, Kalott Jazz & Blues. It also landed them supporting gigs for artists like Robert Plant, Gary Moore, Eric Sardinas and as a backingband for Phil Guy (Buddy Guy's brother).
Daniel left The Blue Devils in 2004 and started a new trio; Daniel Eriksen Band, and later Daniel Eriksen & Pzydeco Sisters.
In 2006 he released his debut CD «Ya Ya», which recieved great reviews from critics and fans alike.
Lately Eriksen has also done shows with Grayson Capps, James Harman, Curtis Eller (they opened for Slade together) and swampblues legend Lazy Lester.
In 2010 Eriksen released his second album , «Muddy Days», also to rave reviews.
The summer of 2011 Daniel, Stig Sjøstrøm and Vidar Busk did a successful tour of Mississippi playing clubs such as Blue Front Cafe (Bentonia), Hal & Mal's (Jackson), B.B. King's Club Ebony (Indianola), 308 Blues Cafe (Indianola), Morgan Freeman's Ground Zero (Clarksdale), Shack Up Inn (Clarksdale), Stan Street's Hambone gallery (Clarksdale), Walnut Street Blues Bar (Greenville) and played with fine artists such as Eden Brent, Mickey Rogers, Bill Howl-n-Madd Perry, Eric Culberson Band, Stan Street, Chris Gill, Jimmy "Duck" Holmes, Nathan Bankston and many more!
